Harry couldn't believe it. In the past year he'd managed to defeat Lord Voldemort, pass his exams with grades O to E and be accepted into Auror training. Sitting in the kitchen at the Burrow, Harry smiled. Hermione and Ron finally got together at Bill and Fleurs wedding, and had been dating for a year now, and other than Ron's complaints at Hermione's friendship with Viktor Krum, things were going well. Ginny had hinted on more than one occasion that she was wanted to date him again, but Harry was more reserved. He wasn't sure if he even wanted a girlfriend. As he pondered this, Ron sat opposite him.
"We were thinking," Harry looked up at him. "Me and Hermione that is. Well, we found this flat, it's a rental, I mean, it's better than staying here right? It doesn’t cost much either, my job would cover my share of the rent easy."
"Ron, is there a point coming anytime soon?" Harry asked, smiling at his best friends inability to convince anyone to do anything.
"Yeah, well, me and Hermione wanted to go for it, but we need another person, well two really. It's three bedroomed, got a kitchen, living room, good bathroom and everything. Me and Hermione would be sharing." Ron broke out in a grin. "As long as Mum doesn't find out just yet, that is. Well, we wanted to know if you want to live with us. It's totally up to you, it just means we only have to get one other person, rather than two. You know?" Ron's grin faltered.
"You're asking me to live with you?" Harry asked.
"Yeah." Ron reaffirmed.
"Of course I'd want to you idiot. It'd be weird not sharing a place with you." Harry grinned. He finally felt normal, well, as normal as an 18 year old wizard could do.

.~.

"Here it is." Hermione said, standing in front of a dirty old building. "I know it doesn’t look like much, but wait ‘till you see it inside. We can get it connected to the Floo network as soon as we move in."
The flat was in London, not far from the centre, but far enough to keep living costs down, bordering both wizard and muggle sectors.
"We thought it was alright." Ron piped up. "Just for a first place, you know. And it’s close to work, not that it matters, but we could walk if we wanted to. And it’s not far from Diagon Alley."
"It looks better inside, right?" Harry looked at the main entrance, the paint was flaking off the door, and there were empty beer bottles on the step.
"Yeah, come on." Hermione took Harry’s arm and dragged him to the doorway, pulling out her key and unlocking the door. "It’s on the third floor, and there’s no lift, but there aren’t many stairs."
"Right." Harry said, following Hermione down the narrow corridor to the stair case.
"We can decorate it as well, it’ll be easy with magic." Ron said, nudging Harry up the stairs and to the right.
"Sure."
Hermione pushed open the door and walked inside. "We transfigured a couple of old books into a coffee table and cushions, but we still need to get a settee, those are hard to transfigure, and the charm wears off really quickly." She said, once again sounding like she had memorised a book.
"It’s fine." Harry said, looking around.
The walls were painted white, but showed stains as if something had been thrown at them, and there were no carpets, but Harry thought the floorboards showed character.
"I think it’s great." Harry said.
"You do?" Ron asked, an air of confusion in his voice. "I mean, at first I thought it was a pigsty, but it’s not so bad really, is it?"
"Well, it beats living with the Dursleys, and, no offence Ron, but I don’t think I could stomach living with your parents for much longer, Ginny’s doing my head in as well. When can I move in?" Harry asked, smiling.
Hermione launched herself at Harry. "Oh, I knew you’d say yes!" She grinned, kissing his cheek.
"You can move tomorrow, with us, if you want." Ron said, leaning on the breakfast bar.
"Brilliant."
